Attracting around 425 travellers, Deorali Bazar ropeway thrives near Makar Sankranti in Gangtok.

Providing panoramic views of the Gangtok city, Deorali Bazar ropeway recently attracted around 425 travellers. As workcation has become a new trend among millennials, young hikers from Pan-India are visiting Gangtok. The city’s major attractions include the Tibetan Buddhist center, attracting monks from Nepal, Ladakh, Himachal, etc.

The ropeway helps de-congest the city, as people can easily travel between two parts of the city using the ropeway. Aditya Chamaria, Managing Director, Damodar Ropeways and Infra Limited said, “This quaint kingdom turned the state of Sikkim has always enraptured travellers. Whenever travellers plan a Pan India Itinerary, it is always on their bucket list. Our effort remains to give them a lifetime, memorable and safe experience of our ropeway services.”

The entire ropeway, situated in the city’s heart, is managed by Damodar Ropeways and Infra Limited is easily accessible by locals and tourists. It was built in 2003, connecting market place to the Tashiling Secretariat via Sikkim Legislative Assembly.
